Name: The Farchadainn Brothers, Olaf and Atlaf

Race: Human. Clan: Feachnoiri.

Age: Olaf, 33, Atlaf, 31

Description:

Olaf: Dark hair
Atlaf: Red hair

Olaf and Atlaf were born of a family on the outskirts of Clan lands, nearest the Dwinanea than any other Feachnoiri village. As such, they are less militant in their distrust of the half-elves, though they do not welcome them with open arms. The two races held an awkward truce along the border. Like others of their clan, they eschew magic and remain largely ignorant of their magic gifts. The fact that they settled in Umbra bacause of magic is conveniently ignored by all Feachnoiri, the Farchadiann family included.

The boys grew up learning the Feachnori religious beliefs as well as the fighting ways of these most feared of the Umbran warriors. No one could best them in swordfight or hand-to-hand combat. When their father died after being shot from his horse in a skirmish with bandits, older Olaf promised their mother to take care of younger, though bigger, Atlaf. Their father had always been a kidder, and sometimes his humor was crude. Occasionally, it was cruel. One day, he joked with his drinking buddies about finding bodies that the bandits had stripped after killing the unwary travelers. Olaf tried kidding his brother about it and found that Atlaf took exception to this line of jesting. That of course encouraged Olaf to bring up the subject as often as possible, enjoying his younger brother's reactions.

The two became fierce fighters, and went to war together against Castus Riccio. When they were given guard duty over Enedost and its environs, they served in Aydindril, to the southeast. They were swept up with the rest of the Feachnoiri when leade Aidan led them to Imladannon. It was they who found the naked Aeron Perian unconscious on the kiling field that the undead brought back by Necromancy to defeat the Septons, which gave Olaf another opporunity to kid Atlaf.

Always going with the Clan, they followed King Utrop's orders and marched to Brispon. It was during the sea voyage that Atlaf learned of Olaf's penchant for seasickness, which he promptly siezed upon as a retort to his brother's cruel humor.

FEACHNOIRI LANGUAGE

The Feachniori's native language is what we could call Irish Gaelic along with some Scotch and Welsh.

Tiarna: A male of royal lineage or station. Equivalent to 'Lord' in the Common Tongue.
"Is there a rat in your breakfast? We didn't bring any from Enedost. Tiarna Gondolin - he's part of the Aleanvirrea clan - had pretty much cleared the city for his rataurants. They're quite good, really - a bit gamey and tough, but they're working on that."

Bantiarna: The female version of Tiarha. Equivalent to 'Lady' in the Common Tongue.

Ri: a king or high lord, male royal leader of a clan or region. Olaf and Atlaf would refer to Bereclan as Ri Aleanvirrea. Colin Weaver would be Ri Weaver. Aidan Feachnoiri was known as Ri Feachnoiri.

Banrion: a queen or high lady, female royal leader. Bronwyn might be referred to as Banrion as she is the female leader of the Feachnoiri. Elleth Ladenves-Aleanvirrea would be Banrion Ladenves-Aleanvirrea or simply Banrion Aleanvirrea

Ard: The Highest King or Queen. The King of Kings or Queen of Queens.
Utrop Nethrana was called the Ri Ard.
Maitria Nethrana is the Banrion Ard.

cloch: a stone. Soul Gems have a term in Feachnroir: Cloch na Biotáille, or Stone of Spirits. The Magic Projectors are called Cloch na Thrinti, or Stone of Ligthning.

cloca: a cloak worn over regular clothing, fastened with a brooch. Simple cloca are fastened with wooden brooches, while the cloca of Riocha (royalty) are fastened with real metal (silver or gold) brooches.
